Sorry guys, I had to disappear a few weeks ago because some health problems with my mother. Unfortunately alzheimer's disease is really a bad story. At this moment I am not the right mood to play, but I hope I'll back. This post is just to: - wish You a Merry Christmas (late) and Happy new year. - give my "welcome back!!" to Robotech. I left You thinking about a Shiva's gravity wheel and stirling engines: Now You gotta a baby!! Congrats!! Finally your Love machine Worked!! BTW: Did someone got any new from shiva and his "gravity wheel"?. I always though it couldn't work but I'm still curious. - extend my compliments to his height Cx. I realize only now that I have never expressed clerarly how much I admire your bot's efficiency. When I started playing RF you were second in the standings, able to compete with giant stick-bots (Gaandu, etc. ..) and You was able to stay at the top even if Maro's stick roamed the arena. It 'almost unbelievable what you can do with small compact robot!

Sorry to hear about your mother.
My grandmother had that too. She keep thinking I was my older brother. It was very sad she had to end up that way.
Merry Christmas and Happy new year!!!

Concur with Slow Slosh, sorry about your mothers troubles (and SS's Grandmother), it must be very difficult on you in more ways than I can imagine... I only hope that we all are able to avoid this. On a different note... I guffawed at the "At least your Love Machine finally worked" reference to the baby and my tempermental RF world record holder sized bot, hehe...probally only the 3rd or 4th time in 2009 I spewed onto my monitor... As for the reference to the Stirling Engine, I hadn't thought about that in eternity, I hope you didn't remember that off the top of your head as it would prove my own memory to be less than someone elses . Also, I continue to work on the Luv Machine as I still have not completed it , both the AI and the physical one.

Well, probably I just misunderstood Your post: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3792&p=34908#p34908Anyway, thanks for your nomination. I have to admit I was lucky, such strategy never works well before vs Bassackwards. Bassackwards is probably the most lethal 10k bot ever created. BTW: I entered my bots in all next tourney (as I really can't know if I will have time to do it in next days). I hope to have some good battle with some Luv Machine.

Sorry to hear about the old folks. I for one, hope to die calm and peaceful, in my sleep, like my grandfather did, not panicked and screaming for my life like the passengers in his car... My gravity wheel was never built. I'd be happy to offer some help to anyone putting one together.

Well guys, thanks for sympathy.. And sorry for last 60k (special sorry to Robotech). I entered (unintentionally - burned brain) 2 Aspo with different user name ("viger" was one of my old log to test bot in Croom). Ah, and welcome back Maro !!

Belated best wishes for your mum. My grandmother had dementia before she passed away. Sad to see people go that way. Re. two Aspos: I'm sure Dragonfly and Wirblewind didn't mind.

@fredd Sorry to hear about your mom. Truly devastating. I can't even imagine what you're going through. I'm wishing you the strength to keep it together. Hang in there. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- as for RF: Your 10k Alter's strategy is working quite nicely. Looking at the 2 battles reveals there's not much I can do. bassackwards freezes from recoil after some of the bigger hits. Then by the time it starts to move, it's too late. @Boomer It's like chess match between us lately- I have to keep finding refutations to your refutations! Wirbelwind is out of control! How do you stop that crazy thing?! wtf can one do? Wirbelwind just locks up the enemy while shredding them. Amazing little 60k to say the least. On top of it all, Veggiematic30k is back with a new and effective kill strategy. And Maro easily takes out my newer 40k Freezer Burn. btw, our last 60k was too close!!! Yeah, there's only a few of us left, but it's still hard to do nothing and remain on top. For me it's been a bit crazy lately. I won a record 8 tourns in a row recently, now followed by another 8 where I only won 1. You guys are all relentless! (you too guro). Anyhow, with 6 more of those 10pt roll-overs coming, it's time to enter the lab. speaking of.. whatever happened to L.A.B.? Happy belated New Year to all!

@ Boomer What I really like in Wirbelwind is the spin movement. I tried and tried and tried (and tried) but I can't spin so fast. Wirbelwind's spin seems to be not affected by recoil or imbalance.. amazing.. @ Cx I'm sure you've already beat all the records about Time at top consecutively. BTW: Do You have any ranking about this for greatest player?

@Cyber: Sadly I haven't made any changes to Wirbel since Aug 2009 (version g --> h). BobM's bots used to give it fits but he hasn't been around so Wirble is getting to later rounds more often. Else I just have to chalk it up to various arenas and starting positions or people making changes to their own bots. Your latest Dragonfly seems to be an improvement vs. Wirbelwind. We'll see! (not making any changes to WW just yet).
I sort of forgot about Veggiematic30k and was entering various other bots. That bot hasn't changed since July 2009.
@freddy: I don't think there is anything special about the spinners. Single weapon radius spinners are just less affected by unbalance because the unbalanced mass is closer to the center. The tradeoff, of course, is less reach in the first place.
